Water Dispenser: How to Find the Perfect One for Your Needs

Water Dispenser: How to Find the Perfect One for Your Needs

This was my journey in the search for the most suitable water dispenser and why I ended up with Wells Singapore, THE ONE that was more expensive than the rest.

When I set out, these were my primary considerations:

🤔 Kitchen already small , don’t want too big that takes up food prep space

🤔 Budget about $3000

🤔 Filter cost cannot be too expensive

After weeks of studying and doing research for water dispensers (which caused my IG feed to show more and more dispenser brands…damn algorithm), I realised that all of them are more or less the same. Your only key considerations are..

Affordability: Make sure you can afford it. Check out their instalment plans

Size: Measure your available counter space. Tankless models help to save space and also where the filters are stored.

Cold Water: Not important to me but important to some. Will consume more electricity

Filter Cost: Your running cost which either need to change in 6 months or 12 months depending on your usage

Post Warranty & Support Cost: Some brands might have low cost machine, but high running cost like service or repairs.

Maintenance: How easy is it for you to change filter or wipe down and clean.

Company Stability: If they go out of business, where are you going to get the filters from?

Personally, it is important that I do as much homework about different products before I settle for one – especially since these appliances aren’t cheap! One of the biggest challenge I faced when looking for a water dispenser was settling on the type of purifier I wanted, based on my needs and home situation.

Although I ultimately decided to go with a dispenser type purifier with under sink filtration, this may not be the most suitable for you – perhaps due to space constrains or affordability, don’t forget to also consider other filtration options.

If you are on the lookout for other types of water dispenser, here are the 3 alternatives I also considered…

Viomi Blues Pro 1200G, Viomi Global

Coralpure Premium 9 Undersink Filtration, Coral Pure Natural

Novita Faucet Water Purifier, Novita SG

I personally know how confusing it can get when it comes to choosing the perfect brand/model for your home – especially when there is a plethora of brands and models to choose from (not to mention the multiple new models being released every other week)…

To help you narrow down your search, here are the top 5 brands (and product model/series) I would recommend you check out!

Wells Singapore

The One: Sleekest but one of the more expensive one. Needs undersink space for their filters. Most of the homeowners I met has this. 😎

Hydroflux Singapore

Wish: Love the “Coffee Machine” design and filters are built in. Also relatively expensive and take up counter space. 😍

Livingcare

Jewel: I see them nearly everywhere at mall. What stands out is their colours. Take up counter space but not as fat as the other block designs. Also popular with other homeowners. 😘

Coral Pure Natural

Premium 9: What drew me in was their strong 180 Days Guarantee Health Benefit claim. But the annual filter change is relatively expensive due to the number of filters. 🤑

Happie

Joy: Newest kid on the block. Lowest price in the market especially during Expo. Design doesn’t wow and standard design similar like the rest. 😊

I have also included 5 additional brands that I have shortlisted for your reference!

Novita SG

Focuswater

Cuckoo

Ruhens

Sterra

In the end, the design of THE ONE is really the one that sold me and my wife over. We don’t see it as investing into the product or its functions but actually investing into our much needed counter real estate space because we need to utilise it as well as access the water everyday.

Only qualm I have is that it doesn’t have boiling water and the heated water flow is a bit slow. Maybe because it needs to heat it while it comes out ? 🤔 Apart from this, every time I lay eyes on the sexiness of it, it gives both of us a sense of pride and also a talking point whenever any guest comes into our kitchen.

I recommend it for any homeowner who wants purified water for his family but doesn’t have a lot of space to spare for a big water purifier. Perfect for our Singapore’s BTO homes, don’t you think?😉

❗️Oh! 1 last note, if you are looking to have cold water. Your undersink needs to have ample space and also a power supply for the compressor. I didnt have that space so I went for just water filtration.
